Money coming to local law enforcement


Money is coming to the Montgomery County Police Department and other agencies, to help with traffic safety. 

Governor Larry Hogan announced $12 million, that will go to various organizations for things like funding overtime for officers, and training for traffic enforcement. The Montgomery County Police Department is receiving $228,000. The Sheriff’s Office will get $7,500.

In 2017, there were more than 550 fatal traffic crashes in Maryland.
