A Metro red line train was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after Metro officials say the train hit a foreign object causing smoke and sparks.
It happened between the Silver Spring and Forest Glen Metro Station. Multiple Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews were at the Forest Glen Metro Station, but officials say all passengers got off the train and there were no injuries. The incident caused delays in both directions.
The Metro Emergency Response Team is still investigating the incident.
