The Montgomery County Board of Education unanimously voted to update the 2017-2018 calendar at a meeting on Monday night.
The first day of school will be Sept. 5, 2017, and the last day will be June 12, 2018.
The Board previously approved the calendar, but then received a letter from the Maryland State Department saying that all make-up days for school closings had to happen before June 15. The calender also conforms with Gov. Hogan’s executive order that school must start after Labor Day.
The calendar includes 182 days in class, which is two more than the minimum required by the state.
