Man hit while crossing the street recovers from serious head trauma

A man who was hit while crossing the street on Tuesday is recovering from serious head trauma.

According to the Frederick Police Department, the victim was crossing at the crosswalk along West Patrick and South Jefferson Streets at about 2 p.m. when a vehicle hit him.

The victim was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma for his injuries.

Police said the female driver stayed at the scene and was determined to be at fault.

“She made a left onto West Patrick Street, did not see him and struck him. At the point where they decided to fly him, it was all head trauma. So, when the vehicle struck he obviously fell to the ground and struck his head,” Michele Bowman with the Frederick Police Department explained.

The victim is now in stable condition.
