Laurie-Ann Sayles has been elected to the National League of Cities board of directors following a recent summit meeting in
The League of Cities was created in 1924 and represents over 19,000 cities and towns.
The advocacy group allows for increased coordination between American communities on national issues such as homelessness and the opioid epidemic.
“Infrastructure is going to be huge,” said councilwoman Sayles. “It was our priority issue last year and with some of the challenges with funding for roads it is going to be a priority legislative item at the federal level.”
While on the board of directors, Sayles will help guide the group’s direction and advocacy priorities.
