Amanda May deals with severe pain related to arthritis and several other conditions daily — she marks her pain as a six on a scale of 10, but she’s found that cannabis works better than any other medication at reducing it.
“Immediately, I can feel some of the pain ease up after a while. I was like ‘Okay, yes, thank you’,” May said.
May is among the crowds of patients who arrived for the grand opening of the Kannavis dispensary and the Kannavis Trading Company’s new location.
Staff say the facility, which is over 3,000 square feet, will be able to more efficiently assist their growing number of patients, and display more CBD products that don’t require a medical marijuana card.
“The new location is three times the size [of our other facility]. We also have patient restrooms, a larger lobby, and most of all, we have our Cannabis Trading Company that offers a variety of wellness products like CBD products,” Kannavis representative Jordan Baker said.
The Kannavis trading company sells CBD items like lozenges, oils, and lotions.
May says being able to pick up a cream infused with cannabis goes a long way to settling stomach pains that previously required emergency room visits.
“I don’t have to go to the emergency rooms when I’m having cramps out the wazoo. I can put CBD cream on my stomach and it works. I never thought a lotion would do that,” May explained.
Kannavis was created in 2017 and was originally located in Ijamsville.
