Intergenerational group links youth to the wise

A new intergenerational program in Montgomery County is connecting today’s kids with the wisdom and stories from residents who are part of the greatest generation.

The Link Generations group spent this weeks session wrapping up its second year of summer meetings in Ingleside at King Farm.

Although it’s not summer school, these kids have received countless history lessons from their new friends.

Breakout discussion groups are formed and members cover everything from music to movies to current political developments.

“I’ve been here since day one and I really enjoyed it,” said Eldie Kabamba. “I really realized that this program is growing and i am growing with it. I’ve learned new stuff about you guys and about myself as well.”

The kids are interns at Ingleside who volunteered for the program and are happy that they did. Talking here has even helped some of the volunteers find ways to improve communication back at home
