A hit-and-run suspect has been arrested after leaving the scene of the collision and then striking an off-duty Montgomery County officer with her car.

Denai Holly, 25, of Washington D.C. struck a car around 8 this morning, going southbound on Interstate 270 at Shady Grove Road. She then fled the scene without checking on the other car or exchanging information.

Montgomery County Police Officer Christopher Jordan was off-duty and in his personal car when he witnessed the incident and tried to keep Holly at the scene of the hit-and-run.

After Jordan got out of his car and identified himself as an officer, she accelerated towards him. He fell on the hood of her car and she continued driving for one mile southbound on I 270 with Jordan on the hood of her car.

While on the hood of Holly’s vehicle, Jordan was able to dispatch information to the Maryland State Police Rockville Barrack, before falling off the hood onto the ground. Jordan reported no injuries after being examined by Rockville EMS.

Multiple charges are still pending. The investigation is ongoing.
