A history commission in Brunswick, Maryland has released a website detailing the city’s history.

Jerry Knight and Vicki Dearing are two out of six members on the Brunswick History Commission who are helping to bring the “big town, small city’s” history for all to read.

“They could go down the street and say everyone names…where they lived and what they did. All of their family,” said Dearing.

In pervious years, the commission released books detailing the town’s history. But, they wanted to take it a step forward. The commission launchd “Brunswick MD History.”

“It is old history and current history,” Knight.

The site holds birth and death records, school information, voting results…just to name a few, that date back to decades.

Brunswick Mayor, Jeffrey Snoots, said the website was able to show him information about his relatives.

“I have gone back and looked and found that my great-great uncle, who was in the Maryland House of Delegates for years,” said Snoots.

Officials on the commission said they created this website for the community.

“It is a great teaching tool for the history of Brunswick,” continued Knight.

If you have photos or information you would want to donate to the history commission, you can email them at historycommission@brunswickmd.gov.
