Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley is kicking it up a notch.
“We’re adding the E-Commerce Warehouse. We have started up within the past year, the E-Commerce program that is going to be used to provide more revenue for our mission services here,” said Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley Director of Marketing, Amy Lyons.
Lyons says adding this warehouse for e-commerce, better known as donated online goods, will help them maximize where they are selling items, and will help fund and provide job training services to individuals with employment barriers in Frederick and Carroll Counties.
“So that can be anything from a developmental disability, a physical disability, to re-entry programs, anything that will be a barrier for an individual getting a job. We help them with their resume building, we help them with their job placement,” said Lyons.
Lyons added the the current space simply isn’t big enough. The new warehouse will be located in Frederick on the corner where English Muffin Way meets New Design Road.
“We’re hoping to add 200 jobs to the E-Commerce program, so for that type of growth we just need a little more space,” added Lyons.
Officials with Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley say the new warehouse is scheduled to open in May.
