Frederick man arrested after he assaults police officer then found with loaded handgun


A Frederick, Maryland, man has been charged after police found him with a loaded handgun.

Dearil Green III, 42, approached two officers with the Frederick Police Department in the 100 block of South Bentz Street and allowed police to search him.

According to the release, one officer smelled marijuana and when Green was placed under arrest, he resisted and assaulted the officer.

When Green was searched, officers found a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun in the pocket of his pants.

Green is facing several charges including second-degree assault, loaded handgun on person, and possession of firearm after conviction of felony.
