In a 4 to 3 vote, the Frederick County Council approved the legislative packet that will be presented to members of the Frederick County delegation later this month.
The legislative packet lists different actions that the county would like the delegation to fight for in the general assembly. Some of the actions that were approved are school construction costs and opposing fracking for the county.
Members of the Frederick county council said that if fracking is approved, it will have a big impact on the county.
“We would like to make sure that Frederick County is in the no fracking area. Other counties have asked and have done that and we would like to be a part of that,” said president of Frederick County Counil Bud Otis.
Members from the Frederick County delegation are set to meet on November 17.
