The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce announces a new vision, mission, and core values.
In 2018, the chamber decided to re-examine the look. Rick Weldon, president and CEO, said the chamber outgrew the old mission and had to adjust to growth in the community.
The chamber’s vision: “We will create a culture of innovation and collaboration for the Frederick County business Community.”
The mission of the chamber is to “create value of our members through leadership, education, advocacy, and networking, and to move the business community forward by promoting shared interests.”
The chamber’s five core values include: leadership, opportunity, collaboration, community, and education.
“We are brighter,” said Weldon. “We are bolder. We are more vibrant, but we are also data-driven and we are thoughtful in how we do things. That message is what has to emerge to the entrepreneur that we see today.”
Weldon said the chamber is the largest county chamber in the state. He also said the chamber is also the first charter chamber in the country.
