The Frederick Community Action Agency released their annual report that outlines the more than 11,000 families served.
Officials say during fiscal year 2018, the agency funded six different programs, including food and nutrition and homeless services.
The Frederick Soup Kitchen, that provides year-round meals, served more than 26,000 meals.
The agency also provides shelter and housing.
But officials say that a majority of funding for these services is made up from community support, and vital for next year’s operations and needs.
“This year we’re hoping to raise up $150,000. And to use some of the additional money that we raise to replace some mini-vans that we use to transport clients to do home visits, to do outreach on the street,” explained Director of the Frederick Community Action Agency, Mike Spurrier.
