Former Frederick County Sheriff’s deputy sentenced to 18 months for first degree assault

A former Frederick County Sheriff’s deputy was sentenced in Frederick County Court Tuesday.

Kevin Zarrin-Kelkye 28, has been sentenced to 18 months for first-degree assault. He entered an Alford plea in May 2019.

Kelkye was originally indicted in December 2018 by a Frederick County grand jury with first-degree rape and three counts of second-degree rape.  According to court documents, he assaulted his ex-girlfriend at his home.

He faced up to 25 years in prison.
