A father and son are under fire for allegedly buying a stolen $203,000 dollar ring and could get locked up for 40 years together for knowingly making the purchase anyway. The family owns a jewelry store in Clinton County, Maryland called Mohamed and Sons Jewelers where detectives first confronted the alleged criminals.

63-year-old Mohamed Heibah and his 30-year-old son, Nasser Abdelhalim, were charged with theft greater than $100,000 and conspiracy to commit theft greater than $100,000.

According to police records, in September the ring was an engagement ring that was stolen from a $1.6 million Bethesda home. Records indicate surveillance video showing the ring was allegedly bought by Abdelhalim for only $20,000. Both father and son denied the transaction and are due back in Montgomery County District Court on June 14 for an initial hearing.
