All four of the suspects in the Damascus High School football rape case have been officially indicted by a grand jury.

The 15-year-olds, Jean Claude Abedi, Kristian Jamal Lee, Will Daniel smith and Caleb Thorpe were indicted on eight counts each.

Those counts include first-degree rape, attempted first-degree rape and four counts of conspiracy to commit rape.

However, an attorney for one of the teens has suggested that the cases should be bounced back to the juvenile courts considering the suspects ages.

“There are also a lot more services that are available to everyone in the case,” said defense attorney David Felsen. “A lot more options for the court in terms of a disposition of the case and we think that that is the appropriate forum.”

The case now moves from district over to circuit court and the teens could face life in prison if convicted.
