On Monday, the law enforcement agency released their new mobile app that allows you to directly send tips about a crime, connect with school resource officers and request patrols to your home while you’re away on vacation.
The sheriff’s office also launched a new website that can be accessed through a new web address: www.FrederickCoSheriff.com
Officials say the website features updates information like annual reports, community resources and recruitment forms.
Officials say the new updates will help the public access deputies even faster, and more effectively.
“It’s important that we’re accessible to everyone at all times. We get questions about, for example, our non-emergency dispatch number. So maybe someone wants to call something in but it’s not necessarily an emergency you’d want to call 9-1-1 for; you can pull up the app and it has our non-emergency number right there,” explained spokesman for the county sheriff’s office, Taylor Clarke.
Officials add that the app also features a crime map of where incidents have taken place and a list of sex offenders in the area.
