County officials estimate thousands of Montgomery County residents are eligible to apply for citizenship.
Montgomery County is launching Citizenship Corners at four libraries, Gaithersburg City Hall and the Gaithersburg Parents Resource Center. Residents can learn about the process of becoming a citizen in a variety of languages. Officials say a library is the perfect place to learn about this program because everybody is welcome.
“We’re here in Montgomery County to encourage people to, in fact, apply,” said Ike Leggett, Montgomery County Executive. “Because we think it is well worth the effort to do so.”
Officials say more Citizenship Corners will be added in the future.
The libraries include the Rockville Memorial Library, the Long Branch and Silver Spring libraries, and the Gaithersburg Library.
