City officials say the pipe of the water main break has been repaired. Water has been restored to all areas except for some homes on Route 67.
The water leak effected about 500 customers both in the City of Brunswick and homes in southern Washington County.
Officials add that water samples have been sent to the Maryland Department of Environment, and the boil water advisory will be lifted once results show the water is in compliance with state standards.
Notifications will be posted on the doors of affected customers.
According to a post by the City of Brunswick, a boil water alert has been placed on parts of the area including Central Avenue and all areas west heading into Knoxville.
The alert was posted to the city’s Facebook page shorty after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Late Monday night the city posted of a major water main break Tritapoe Drive, with crews responding to the scene.
