Animal control investigating alleged guinea pig molestation

The Frederick County Animal Control is conducting an investigation based on allegations that a guinea pig was supposedly molested.

Officials with Frederick County Animal Control along with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office say they responded to a complaint of a guinea pig being mistreated. They say the animal is in their custody right now receiving proper care.They say when they first got the guinea pig, it did require veterinarian care.

“We are very intense about getting facts not speculation… We want to make sure that we handle it very carefully, it’s an unusual case for us,” said Frederick County Animal Control Director, Linda Shea.

Officials say no one is in custody for this incident as officials say it is still under investigation.
