A company that creates vaccines is expanding in Gatihersburg and adding to the quickly growing bio-technology industry in Montgomery County.
Gaithersburg’s Altimmune just announced that the company will expand to a new, 14,000 square foot building.
The company recently merged with an Annapolis company called PharmAthene. Now, they have so many more employees, they’re busting out of their current space, and they plan to add 45 new jobs.
“We were working with the state and the county as well as the City of Gaithersburg, and we got about $300,000 in economic incentive money,” said Bill Enright, President and CEO, Altimmune.
Altimmune received $150,000 from the Maryland Department of Commerce, $100,000 from Montgomery County and $50,000 from the City of Gaithersburg for their expansion.
