$600k approved for school repairs

A new supplemental appropriation has been approved to help Montgomery County Public Schools with some much needed repairs.

The county council added $603,000 to the MCPS fiscal 2019 budget to fund a number of improvements, repairs and maintenance projects in school facilities.

Many MCPS facilities are well over 50 years old and are in need of new mechanical, plumbing systems, lighting and walkways.

The Maryland State Public School construction program will reimburse Montgomery County for the cost of the projects once completed.
