The Hospice of Frederick County, Md. has a new program to help veterans.
Officials said the county has a rapidly increasing veteran population that it needs to accommodate.
The program provides those who served our country with the necessary resources when it comes to considering Hospice as an option. The information included burial in a veteran’s cemetery and how to get final honors.
This program was created through a grant for more than $300,000 from the Kahlert Foundation.
“[Our social workers, on initial intake, interview the veterans,] and, we do an extensive military checklist about when they served [and] where they served,” said Hospice of Frederick County, Md. Veteran Liaison Keith Midberry.
Hospice of Frederick County, Md. is a proud partner of We Honor Veterans, a program established between the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. (VA)
