Maryland’s governor is commending a Montgomery County organization after visiting its facility Monday.
A Wider Circle is based in Silver Spring and provides furniture, clothing, and job training for low-income families in the D.C. area.
To date, the program has served more than 150,000 people, with the help of 15,000 volunteers annually.
It operates largely through donations; Governor Hogan says he hopes the state can provide more assistance to the organization through grants.
“The fact that they have so many people participating and contributing is just a wonderful thing, and I want to tip my hat off to the great work that they’ve been doing,” said Governor Larry Hogan, Maryland (R).
Governor Hogan will return to Montgomery County Tuesday for a news conference regarding I-270 developments.
