A local community college received a grant to support first generation and lower-income students push through high school and college.
Hagerstown Community College received a five-year Upward Bound grant for a second time.
The grant, worth more than one million dollars, will serve 72 students at North and South Hagerstown, Williamsport and Hancock High Schools.
Participants ranging from 9th to 12th grade will have access to tutoring services, college prep workshops, the ability to earn college credits while in high school and a college readiness program up until their high school graduation.
HCC will accept applications until all 72 spots are filled.
