Germantown home invasion suspect arrested

News

Police have arrested one man from a group of suspects believed to be behind a violent home invasion that occurred last month.

Montgomery County Police detectives have charged Sheraz Shoukat Shah, 25, with home invasion and firearm offenses.

However, police officials say that Shah still has three accomplices at large who stormed into a home at the 14000 block of Seneca Road in Germantown on October 27.

The robbery lasted all of 5 minutes as the group attacked and then tied up four residents at the home and made off with some of the valuables inside.

Shah is being held in custody without bond at this time.

The suspects “were trying to conceal themselves,” said officer Rick Goodale. “When the suspects entered the home they confronted one of the adults in the home. The victim who was struck came to the aid of the one resident at which point he was then struck with the handgun.”

Detectives are asking for any help from the public as they continue to look into the robbery, which they believe was not a random event.
