Frostburg man arrested after multi-state police pursuit

News

A 20-year-old man has been taken into custody, after a police chase that went through Frostburg, Cumberland and Keyser.

Authorities said Justin Demoss of Frostburg was driving a stolen Toyota SUV, and eluded Frostburg officers on Saturday. The next day, he refused to stop for Cumberland Police or Allegany County deputies, and continued a pursuit on Route 220 South.

When he was near Keyser, police said Demoss tried to pull into a parking lot and lost control, striking a large sign before fleeing on foot. He was finally arrested after a struggle in a wooded area behind the Polish Pines golf course.

Assisting the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office in the arrest were Maryland State Police, West Virginia State Police, Mineral County Sheriff’s Office and Keyser Police Department.
