Former Frederick County Commissioner charged with four counts of prostitution

News

Former Frederick County Commissioner Blaine Young was charged with four counts of prostitution.

The incident happened back in February, and according to a police report obtained from Anne Arundel County Police, a female detective posted an escort ad on a popular site known as Backpage.

The ad depicted a female exposing herself and her undergarments.

Young responded to the ad and met the detective at a hotel in Linthicum, Md.

According to police, the female detective spoke on the phone and received text messages from Blaine Young.

When he arrived at the hotel, reports said he immediately began to undress and offered the detective money for sex.

“He gave the detective an agreed upon $60 for sexual intercourse and when he gave the $60 in cash to the detective, that’s when the other detectives entered the room and announced that they were police and that it was a prostitution stake,” said Lt. Ryan Frashure, public information officer for the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Young was charged with four counts of engaging in prostitution.

Young has a preliminary hearing in late May. According to Lt. Frashure, if he is convicted, he will not face any jail time, but will have to pay fines.

We reached out to Young, but the number he has listed is currently not in service.
