Education officials in Montgomery County are suggesting a much needed expansion plan for a Silver Spring elementary school.

The four-classroom expansion proposal would raise student capacity at Pine Crest Elementary School from 404 to 588 students.

Like many Montgomery County Schools, Pine Crest is over crowded and is currently 50 students over capacity.

Officials are also looking at an expansion plan for nearby Montgomery Knolls Elementary School which would include six traditional classrooms, testing rooms and storage space.
