Results are in for a race that kept many on the edge of their seat due to its importance to partisan control of the Senate. Joe Manchin (D) wins the key Senate race in West Virginia.
His opponent, Patrick Morrisey (R) was a candidate who campaigned heavily on his Republican values and was even endorsed by President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
Morrisey, who has been Attorney General of West Virginia for the last five years will continue to serve in that role now.
Live from the Historic McFarland House in Martinsburg, West Virginia where WDVM’s Aliah Williamson follows the senate race between incumbent Democratic Senator Joe Manchin, who is being challenged by West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey.
Morrisey has been endorsed by President Donald Trump and many of his policies closely follow Trump’s, including his stances on healthcare, immigration and the economy.
The results could either help republicans maintain control of the senate or help democrats regain a foothold and possibly reach a majority.
