Thousands of Montgomery County residents took to the polls on Election Day. There were many volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make it all possible.
Many expected the turnout to be greater than in previous years in Montgomery County, but officials said it was not any different with 65 – 70% of residents voting.
Everything on Election Day went as planned, but during early voting, there were a few instances where ballots that were partially filled-out were distributed. Some volunteers mistakenly issued ballots from the pile of discarded ballots.
“Very simple mistake. It only happened a few times that we’re aware of. Immediate correction, and judges were immediately reminded of the process,” said Marjarie Roher, Public Information Officer (PIO) for Montgomery County.
Officials will meet with the Board of Canvassers on Thursday, Nov. 10, to go over the results.
