May 4 marks the day where Halloween comes a little early, and where people dress up as their favorite character from “Stars Wars,” for Star Wars Day.
The Earth and Space Science Lab in Frederick, Md., hosted a “Star Wars Night,” with over 300 people attending a special presentation that featured the “Science of Star Wars.” Families traveled from room to room to see animals that represented some of the favorite characters and even got to travel to the fictional planet from “Star Wars,” Bespin.
“The great things that you saw in ‘Star Wars’ that we viewed as science fiction, many have come to pass in technology. We are going to show some of those things. We are going to compare plants to plants that have actually been discovered,” said Co-chair of the Earth and Space Science Lab, Jeff Grills.
Star Wars Day is also a fundraiser for the science lab to keep the facility running each year.
