Nearly 75 firefighters responded to an early morning two alarm fire, just after 12 AM, Friday. It happened on the 8000 block of Reichs Ford Road in Frederick, MD.
Arriving units reported smoke and fire was visible from a garage unit in the front of the building.
Firefighters attacked the flames for nearly forty minutes before the fire became a two alarm fire.
Officials say hazardous materials crews responded as well to control possible hydrocarbon runoff, due to how close the fire was to the Monocacy River. The Maryland Department of Environment has also been notified.
Fire crews had the fire under control after nearly four hours of battling the flames.
They say there were no injuries and the cause remains under investigation by the County Fire Marhsal’s Office. They estimate the damage to the building and contents being $200,000.
