Turkish President visits the White House

Capitol Review

WASHINGTON (WDVM) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited the White House for a meeting and joint press conference with President Trump.

Lawmakers from both parties have been critical of the visit, especially after Turkey attacked Kurdish forces in Northern Syria following the sudden withdrawal of American troops.

The Kurds had been American allies in the battle against ISIS, but the Turkish government called them terrorists.
