Freshmen lawmakers fight opioid addiction

A group of freshmen lawmakers are hoping their fresh approach can make a difference in the war against drug addiction.

Rep. David Trone (D-Maryland) is one of the 55 members of the “Freshmen Working Group on Addiction.” They represent 30 states.

Morgan Wright reports they have introduced their first bill, designed to provide $5 billion to the states to support local efforts to fight opioid abuse and addiction, and save lives.
