For the first time, the DMV’s Asian American Business Summit and Expo was held in Montgomery County.
The event is in its seventh year, promoting diversity in business and government.
Hundreds of attendees heard from First Lady Yumi Hogan; Maryland has never had an Asian American First Lady before.
She applauded Montgomery County’s diversity and said networking opportunities like this will help, not only the county, but the entire state provide more opportunities for minorities.
“My message is we are first generation and have small businesses, but we are working hard for our next generation,” said Yumi Hogan, First Lady of Maryland.
The Asian American Chamber of Commerce organized the event.
