A Boonsboro, Md. woman was arrested on Thursday for possession of heroin charges.
Officers from the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crimes Team performed a traffic stop in the area of Old Camp Road and Alternate Route 40 in Frederick City.
Officers made contact with the driver, who was identified as Leah Ballow.
Police said they smelled marijuana in Ballow’s vehicle. She was detained as a result.
Officers searched the vehicle and said they found a straw containing heroin. They also said that they found a syringe on Ballow.
She was transported the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and was charged with one count of possession of heroin and possession of controlled paraphernalia.
