Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office investigating home invasion

Around 2 a.m. Friday morning, police responded to a call for a burglary in process.

The call came from a neighbor who told police that a Martinsburg home on Tenacious Heights was broken into.

“At that point, investigators from the sheriff’s office were called out to assist. They were able to determine a home invasion robbery occurred…and we were able to identify the male subject as Devin Sims of Martinsburg,” said Sgt B.F. Hall, from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim told police that the two suspects involved kicked the door in and then threatened him with a knife. He also reported that he was tied down with a rope while the suspects questioned him about his credit card information.

One of the suspects, who was identified as Tiffany Nelson, was arrested when deputies arrived on scene. The other suspect, Devin Sims, was arrested arrested around 5 p.m. Friday after a brief vehicle pursuit. Both are in custody.
