Attorney General William Barr released his summary of and a redacted version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report while Congress was on its spring break.
Lawmakers are back in the saddle, and there was a showdown at the Senate Judiciary Committee. Barr testified about his handling of the report, while Democrats dove into recent reports that Mueller believes Barr undersold the report to the public, glossing over the President’s misdeeds. They also demanded that Barr allow every senator a chance to look at an unedited version of the report.
Republicans, meanwhile, want to focus on preventing further Russian interference in our elections, and making the whole thing go away before the 2020 election. Morgan Wright reports.
