Grace Grill joined the WDVM Sports team in 2018 and has since become immersed in the sports scene in Washington and Frederick County Maryland, covering local stories from youth sports to NCAA Division I Athletics.
Most notably, Grace’s coverage of Mount St. Mary’s Men’s and Women’s basketball, and the teams’ runs to NEC titles in 2020, lead to the first TV media deal in the North Eastern Conference with five Mount Men’s basketball games aired live on WDVM in the 2021-22 season.
Grace has also covered Shepherd Football extensively, including the team’s 2021 run in the Division II football playoffs in which the Rams made it all the way to the semifinals.
A graduate of York College of Pennsylvania, Grace started out covering local sports in her hometown of Harrisburg, PA where she was the sideline reporter for local high school football and basketball games, which were aired on WDVM’s sister station WHTM (Abc 27), and also covered the Washington Capitals AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, for a local blog.
Grace has also appeared on ESPN+ as the sideline reporter and color analyst for George Washington University women’s basketball games and has also done some work for the Atlantic 10 Network.
In her spare time, Grace enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and taking in sporting events that she isn’t covering. You can usually find her at a concert or two during the summer as well.
If you have a sports story idea for Grace that you think should be covered please send her an e-mail to email@example.com with the subject line “SPORTS STORY IDEA.” She would love to hear from you!
