I’m a DMV resident at heart, born in Maryland and raised in Virginia. My primary area of coverage for WDVM25 is Northern Virginia, but look for me around Maryland and Washington, DC, too. Although I was born in Maryland, I’ve been in Virginia my whole life, except for when I was working in Upstate New York as a general assignment reporter for WETM, a sister station to WDVM25.
Before then, I studied at Virginia Commonwealth University, where I reported and anchored for a student-run newscast that aired on PBS bi-weekly in the greater Richmond area.
My passion for news is rooted in a love for storytelling. When I was in elementary school, a PE teacher would ask us to tell a story or a joke while stretching. One day, I offered to tell a joke to the class, and after finishing, he told me I had a voice of someone you’d hear on the news. That stuck with a young, impressionable me, but I enrolled in Pre-Med in college instead of anything to do with broadcast journalism. It wasn’t until I realized the science of storytelling inspired me more than the science of medicine. I switched my major and the rest is, as they say, history.
I love sharing stories of the people I meet and covering impactful stories about the communities in which I live and work. If you have a good news tip, or if you’d like to just say hello, feel free to follow me on Facebook and Twitter, or send me an email to email@example.com.
