LocalDVM - Good evening everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. As we start your work week, we have a chance of rain/snow showers. Any accumulation will be light around the region.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Northern Virginia Blue Ridge, Page and Shenandoah Counties in Virginia, along with Grant and Hardy Counties in West Virginia. Valley snowfall in these areas will be 1-2 inches. Ridges above 2,000 feet could see 2-4 inches with locally heavier amounts.
For the rest of us, we may see less than an inch of snowfall if any at all. Areas back towards Mountain Maryland, Mountain Pennsylvania and the Northern Potomac highlands could see 1-2 inches of snowfall with higher elevations seeing 2-4 inches of snowfall with locally heavier amounts.
A passing snowflake may be in our forecast for Tuesday. Temperatures for the first half of the week look to be a little chilly with temperatures in the 30's and 40's as highs. However, things change as we go into mid to late week.
A ridge of high pressure will make its way into our region giving warmer temperatures around the area. Highs will jump from the mid 40's on Thursday into the 50's for Friday and Saturday. Could we reach into the 60's by next weekend? Time will only tell.
