Happy Tuesday everyone! Are we sure it’s still spring? Today certainly won’t feel like it with unseasonably cool, cloudy, and breezy weather expected for your Tuesday.
Thankfully much of the area has managed to stay just above freezing this morning thanks to some cloud cover that rolled in overnight. If you did take precautions for that freeze/frost last night I would do it again before heading off to bed tonight as more Freeze watch/warnings are in effect. I think tomorrow morning has a better chance for that freeze as a clear sky will drop temperatures a few degrees closer and below 32. You certainly don’t want your sensitive plants to be damaged!
We’ll have to deal with that tonight but before then we have to deal with some minor flooding due to all that rain we saw early Monday morning. Some moderate flooding is expected this morning at the South Branch Potomac in Hardy/Hampshire counties, minor flooding at the Potomac in Washington/Berkeley/Jefferson counties, and minor flooding at the Cacapon River in Morgan county. Be aware of these and turn around if you happen to see a flooded roadway near these bodies of water.
Otherwise, after a chilly start to Wednesday it looks to be one of the better days this week with sun and warmer temperatures returning for a moment before some showers arrive overnight and leave Thursday cloudy and breezy. Quiet but cool and dry weather returns for the weekend. Here is a look at your 7-day forecast:
Today: Some isolated flurries (no accumulation), otherwise becoming mostly cloudy. Cool with highs in the upper 40s. West winds 10-20 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear with temperatures near freezing.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy and warming up again. Highs in the low to mid 60s. Overnight light rain showers.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a few lingering morning showers. Highs in the mid to upper 50s.
Friday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the low to mid 50s.
Saturday: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 50s.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the low 60s.
Monday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs in the low 60s.
Have a great Tuesday!
