Nick Munson joined the WDVM News Team in September of 2014. He graduated from the University of Maryland-College Park that year, with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Government & Politics.
He has spent time in a variety of roles at the station, including as web producer, multimedia journalist and weekend evening anchor. In July of 2016, he was promoted to weekday morning anchor.
Born and raised in Hagerstown, Nick got his first broadcast news experience as an intern at WDVM during his college years. He then went on to work for ABC News in Los Angeles, as well as NBC News on Capitol Hill. In his last semester of college, Nick reported and anchored at UMTV, part of the University of Maryland’s award-winning Capital News Service program.
When he’s not chasing a story or on the anchor desk, Nick can usually be found cheering for the Maryland Terrapins on the basketball court, or rooting for his New York Mets on the diamond – although he does support the hometown Orioles as well!
Nick is also an avid runner, and has recently run in the New York City Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C.
If you see him out and about, feel free to say hello!
