School rocks crazy socks to support one student's fight against cancer

Local businesses gets in on the initiative too

MORGAN COUNTY, W.Va. - A Morgan County school is supporting a third-grader who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor by wearing crazy socks for the day.

Rylee, who attends Warm Spring Intermediate School, is battling cancer.

The school nurse started the "Sock it to Cancer" challenge along with  high school students, apart of the  Community Cougar.

It's a program where high school students eat lunch with intermediate students on Fridays.

Participants donated a dollar to Rylee and his family and rocked out their own crazy socks to show their support.

More than 25 local businesses are also participating.

Rylee is out of school but has been invited to the girls basketball game where the team will be wearing silly socks.
