VIRGINIA - The Virginia State Police Safety Division announced that Virginia state inspection stickers will no longer be put on the bottom center of a vehicle's windshield starting in January 2019.
Due to new innovations in the automotive industry, the 2019 state inspection stickers will now be placed in the bottom left corner of the windshield from the inside looking out.
This change in location will also apply to the placement of any other authorized stickers.
"Due to automotive industry technology advancements and so forth, we found that by having it in the bottom center of the window can actually cause problems for the crash avoidance system technology," said Corinne Geller, Virginia State Police, Public Relations Director.
It's important to note that existing Virginia vehicle inspection stickers are to remain in their current position.
When you are issued a 2019 sticker, it be placed in the bottom left corner.
