Teachers battle on hardwood for fundraiser

The game was organized to raise money for student council activities

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - It was battle of the teachers on Monday night as educators laced up their sneakers and took it to the hoop for a competitive game of basketball.

On the scoreboard it was the Greencastle-Antrim High School teachers vs. the Middle School teachers.

Although competition was high between the two challengers, it was all in the name of fun.

The game was put on by the student council and the money raised will benefit events like homecoming and other community outreaches.

"We're also sellign $5 ducks to raise money for Emma Strait who is a 7th grader here in the District who was just diagnosed with lukemia, so we have a lot of things going on this evening," said Teacher and Student Council Co-Adviser, Glory Sterling.

This is the first year the event took place, but with the support of the community, students are hoping to make it an annual game.
