Man shoots wife in face during argument, victim clinging to life

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an attempted homicide that happened in St. Thomas Township in Franklin County just before 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Police said 49 year-old James Shatzer, of Chambersburg, shot his wife in the face with a revolver during an argument.

According to the most recent reports, the victim is clinging to life at York Hospital and remains in critical condition. 

Shatzer was charged with attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail.

The incident is still currently under investigation.
