Police Investigate Robbery at Santander Bank in Hagerstown

- HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Officers with Hagerstown City Police are investigating a robbery that happened at a local bank Thursday. 

It happened around 12:45 p.m. at the Santander Bank on 140 Paul Smith Blvd., inside the Martins Grocery Store parking lot along the Dual Highway. 

Officers were told that a man walked into the bank, and demanded money from one of the tellers. After being given an undisclosed amount of cash. The man was said to have fled in the area in a newer model silver GMC pick-up truck. The vehicle was last seen driving across Martins grocer's parking lot towards US-40. 

No one was harmed during the incident. 

Police say the suspect is described as a white male, mid-30's, 5'9"-5'10", 160-170 lbs, full beard and wore transition lens glasses. He was last seen in a dark colored jacket, blue jeans and a black knit cap. 

Currently there is crime tape around the bank, with a sign that says "Closed due to an Emergency."
